Stock Controller - Luxury Safari Lodge

An exciting opportunity is available for a detail-oriented and organised Stock Controller to manage the inventory and stock operations of a luxury safari lodge in the Madikwe Game Reserve. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate stock levels and records across food, beverages, housekeeping and operational supplies, while supporting efficient procurement and cost control. Key Responsibilities Stock & Inventory Management Maintain accurate records of all stock across the lodge. Conduct regular stock counts, reconciliations and audits. Monitor stock levels and identify shortages, discrepancies or potential wastage. Ensure stock is accurately recorded and accounted for. Procurement & Receiving Assist with ordering stock based on usage and anticipated requirements. Receive and inspect deliveries, checking quantities and quality against orders. Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to ensure timely replenishment. Escalate any discrepancies or delivery issues to management. Record Keeping & Reporting Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records and stock systems. Prepare regular stock and inventory reports, highlighting variances, wastage and trends. Assist management with stock-related budgeting and cost-control measures. Storage & Organisation Ensure all stock is stored correctly in line with hygiene, safety and manufacturer requirements. Maintain clean, organised and easily accessible storerooms. Implement appropriate stock rotation procedures to minimise spoilage and wastage. Ensure stock is clearly organised and easily accounted for. Compliance & Safety Follow lodge procedures for the safe handling, storage and disposal of stock. Ensure compliance with relevant hygiene, safety and operational requirements. Assist with internal stock audits and inspections when required. Minimum Requirements Matric / Grade 12. Previous experience in stock control, inventory management or procurement would be advantageous. Basic understanding of inventory systems, stocktaking and record keeping. Strong numeracy and attention to detail. Excellent organisational and time-management skills. Basic computer literacy, including Excel or inventory software, would be advantageous. Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Reliable, professional and trustworthy approach to handling stock and records. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage priorities effectively in a busy hospitality environment.
