Field Guide – Eastern Cape Our client is looking for a passionate and experienced Field Guide to join their team. If you love wildlife, have strong guiding skills and enjoy sharing your knowledge, we want to hear from you! REQUIREMENTS - FGASA Nature Site Guide / Field Guide qualification (NQF2 minimum; NQF4 advantageous). - Valid First Aid Certificate. - Valid South African Driver’s License. - Professional Driver’s Permit (PrDP/PDP) if transporting guests. - Previous experience in a game reserve, lodge or safari environment advantageous. - Excellent communication and guest-relations skills. - Professional appearance and conduct. - Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors for extended periods. - Good observation, tracking and interpretation skills. - Passion for wildlife, conservation and hospitality. KEY DUTIES - Conduct game drives and guided safari experiences for guests. - Provide interesting and accurate information on wildlife, birds, plants, geology and the environment. - Ensure the safety and wellbeing of guests throughout guided activities. - Conduct daily vehicle and equipment safety checks. - Identify and interpret animal behaviour, tracks, signs and sightings. - Follow reserve rules, environmental policies and responsible wildlife-viewing procedures. - Maintain and care for safari vehicles, equipment and guiding areas. - Assist with emergency procedures and ensure appropriate safety protocols are followed. - Work closely with other guides, lodge staff and management.
