CONSERVATION & EXPEDITION FACILITATOR/GUIDE Organisation: Raleigh International Location: Hoedspruit, Limpopo, South Africa Start Date: 5th October 2026 Salary: R10,000 – R12,000 p/m (dependent on experience) Type: Full-time live-in position Raleigh South Africa is seeking a passionate Conservation & Expedition Facilitator/Guide to support environmental and youth development programmes in the Hoedspruit area. This is not a traditional safari guiding role. Raleigh Expeditions combine youth development, community engagement, environmental conservation and adventure. You will work alongside young people throughout different Expedition phases, supporting their development and wellbeing while facilitating conservation and community projects. The role includes significant responsibility for group management, pastoral care and youth development, alongside conservation facilitation and wider Expedition operations. We are looking for someone who is confident, adaptable and comfortable working across different environments, from community settings and conservation projects to the practical realities of Expedition life. Applicants must be comfortable with remote, off-grid living, including tents, cold showers, communal living and physically demanding work. This is a dynamic role that goes far beyond traditional guiding or conservation work. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES · Facilitate conservation and environmental projects · Lead, manage and support youth groups · Provide pastoral care and facilitate youth development · Deliver environmental education · Support community and Trek/Adventure phases · Assist with camp and Expedition operations · Maintain participant safety and uphold Raleigh standards MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS · FGASA / CATHSSETA guiding qualification · Valid First Aid Certificate · Valid PDP · South African citizen or valid right to work in South Africa DESIRABLE · Experience in youth development or volunteer management · Knowledge of Lowveld ecology and conservation practices · Strong practical bush or maintenance skills · Experience in community engagement or environmental education
