OPERATIONS ASSISTANT Organisation: Raleigh International Location: Hoedspruit, Limpopo, South Africa Start Date: 5th October 2026 Salary: R12,000 – R15,000 p/m (dependent on experience) Type: Full-time live-in position About the Role Raleigh International South Africa is looking for a reliable, practical and highly organised Operations Assistant to support the safe and smooth delivery of our expeditions. This is a hands-on, live-in role supporting the Operations Coordinator and wider expedition team across logistics, kit and equipment, administration, reporting, volunteer support and day-to-day expedition operations. It is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to build experience in operations, logistics and field-based programme management. What You’ll Be Doing • Support day-to-day expedition logistics, planning, daily admin and operations. • Maintain kit inventories and records, coordinate maintenance, and identify damaged, missing or replacement items. • Manage first aid and communications kit inventories and ensure equipment is ready for use. • Assist with transport, equipment, supplies, logistics movements and operational resource preparation. • Maintain accurate operational records, documentation and delegated duty-manager reporting. • Oversee day-to-day operations of our Instagram account. • Support volunteer management, debriefs and training of volunteers in delegated operational areas. • Participate in morning meetings, operational briefings and debriefs, and support operational continuity. • Identify and promptly escalate concerns relating to safety, safeguarding, welfare or conduct. • Step in across different operational areas as required and help solve practical problems in a changing expedition environment. What We’re Looking For • Highly organised, reliable, practical and detail-oriented. • Strong administrative skills and confidence maintaining accurate records. • Adaptable, proactive and able to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment. • Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently while following direction. • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. • Fluent in English. • Valid First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain). • Valid South African driver’s licence with PDP (or willingness to obtain). • Willingness to work flexible hours and live on-site. • Police clearance, satisfactory references and legal right to work in South Africa. Desirable • Experience in logistics, operations, project support or field-based programmes. • Background in tourism, volunteering, conservation, youth or outdoor programmes. • Experience with stock, inventory, vehicles, equipment or practical maintenance. • Interest in community development and environmental work; familiarity with social media is an advantage. • Passion for working with young people and in outdoor settings.
