Description Head Guide - Luxury Safari Lodge - Northern KwaZulu-Natal Kendrick Recruitment is searching for an experienced, organised and inspirational Head Guide for a well-established luxury safari lodge set within a Big Five private game reserve in northern KwaZulu-Natal. This is a senior leadership role for a guide who is as comfortable managing a department as they are leading a guest on a bush walk. We need someone who takes genuine pride in the guest experience, develops their guiding team with purpose and runs a tight, well-organised department behind the scenes. Minimum Requirements: FGASA NQF4 (Level 2) - essential and non-negotiable Full Lead Trails Guide qualification - essential and non-negotiable Advanced Rifle Handling (ARH) - essential Valid SAPS Firearm Competency - essential SASSETA registration - essential Valid First Aid certificate (Wilderness First Aid preferred) Valid PrDP - essential NDT registration - essential Proven experience in a Head Guide or Assistant Head Guide role - essential Strong administrative and organisational skills - managing rosters, reporting and departmental admin is a key part of this role Excellent guest engagement, communication and hosting skills Ability to lead, mentor and develop a guiding team Knowledge of the KwaZulu-Natal bush ecosystem advantageous Comfortable living and working in a remote, live-in environment Stable work history with outstanding, contactable references Key Responsibilities: Lead the guiding department with clear direction, organisation and high standards Deliver exceptional game drives and guided bush walks personally Manage daily guide and tracker allocations and duty rosters Oversee vehicle, equipment and firearm standards across the department Implement and maintain guiding SOPs and safety protocols Mentor, train and develop guides and trackers Maintain accurate departmental records and reporting Liaise with lodge management and other departments to ensure seamless guest experiences Champion ethical wildlife viewing and conservation values Package: Gross Salary: R35,000 to R40,000 per month (Dependent on experience & qualifications) Live-in: Accommodation and meals provided Should you feel you are the right fit for this role, please apply with your updated CV, contactable references and a recent head and shoulders photo ASAP! π Please Note: If you do not receive feedback within 7 working days, kindly consider your application unsuccessful.
