About My Client Our client is an established organisation operating within the travel, tourism, sports and events sectors. The business manages several recognised brands and delivers travel experiences, sporting programmes and event-related services to local and international markets. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or junior marketing professional who would like to gain practical experience within a dynamic, creative and commercially focused environment. Role Purpose The Digital Marketing Co-ordinator will assist with implementing, managing and monitoring digital marketing activities across multiple brands and creative projects. The role covers social media, content creation, internal and external campaigns, website content, email marketing, reporting and online community engagement. The successful candidate will work closely with the Marketing and Creative teams to ensure that all content is engaging, accurate and aligned with the organisation’s brand guidelines. Social Media Management The Digital Marketing Co-ordinator will assist with developing and implementing social media and audience-engagement strategies across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X and YouTube. The role involves maintaining social media pages, publishing content, sharing relevant information and ensuring that all channels remain current and engaging. The successful candidate will support both organic and paid social media activities aimed at increasing brand awareness, engagement and audience growth. The position will also involve managing content across multiple brand accounts while ensuring that the messaging remains consistent and aligned with the organisation’s broader brand identity. Content Creation and Campaign Support The successful candidate will assist with creating written, visual and video content for social media campaigns, websites, newsletters and other marketing initiatives. Responsibilities will include copywriting, content planning, basic filming, photography and video support. The Digital Marketing Co-ordinator will assist in preparing campaign briefs and executing digital campaigns in collaboration with the Marketing and Communications Manager. All content must comply with the organisation’s corporate identity and brand guidelines. Research, Analytics and Reporting The role involves using analytics and reporting tools to measure campaign performance, audience engagement and social media growth. The Digital Marketing Co-ordinator will compile monthly social media reports, monitor relevant metrics and provide information that may assist the Marketing team in improving future campaigns. The successful candidate will also conduct competitor research, monitor digital marketing trends and identify relevant technologies or platforms that could strengthen the organisation’s marketing activities. Public Relations and Community Engagement The Digital Marketing Co-ordinator will assist with online community engagement and support public relations activities across the organisation’s brands. The role may include responding to online engagement, supporting community-building initiatives and assisting with the preparation of basic crisis communication plans for digital channels. The successful candidate may also assist with webinars, tutorials, information-sharing sessions, events and important promotional days. Email Marketing The position will involve researching topics and creating or editing content for newsletters and email marketing campaigns. The successful candidate will assist with ensuring that email content is informative, relevant and aligned with current marketing campaigns and brand messaging. Team Collaboration The Digital Marketing Co-ordinator will work closely with the Marketing and Creative teams on various projects, including sourcing images, developing campaign content and supporting video or creative production requirements. Regular planning and brainstorming meetings will form part of the role. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute ideas, communicate effectively and collaborate with internal stakeholders and brand representatives. Learning and Development The successful candidate will be expected to continuously develop their digital marketing and social media knowledge. They should remain informed about emerging technologies, platform updates, industry developments and changes in online audience behaviour. Requirements Minimum Requirements Matric or Grade 12 is required. A completed or partially completed qualification in Digital Marketing, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or a related field would be advantageous. This role is suitable for a recent graduate or junior candidate. Previous formal employment experience is not essential where the candidate can demonstrate relevant knowledge through internships, learnerships, freelance work, volunteer projects, academic assignments or a personal digital portfolio. The candidate should have a good understanding of social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X and YouTube. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. Familiarity with content creation, social media scheduling, analytics, email marketing, photography, video editing or design tools would be beneficial. Strong written communication and copywriting skills are important, together with a sound understanding of basic marketing principles. Skills and Competencies The ideal candidate will be creative, energetic, self-motivated and eager to learn. They should be able to generate fresh ideas while following established brand guidelines and instructions. Strong planning, organisational and time-management skills are required, together with the ability to manage several tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. The candidate should demonstrate sound judgement, attention to detail, accuracy and problem-solving ability. They must communicate professionally, work collaboratively and build positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at different levels.
