Position Overview We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Assistant Management Couple to join a hospitality/lodge operation. The couple will work closely with the management team and assist with the day-to-day running of the lodge. The ideal couple will consist of one qualified Field Guide who will focus primarily on guiding and guest activities, and one Reservations/Administration candidate who will assist with reservations, administration and general lodge operations. Both candidates must be hands-on, guest-focused and willing to assist across various areas of the lodge when required. Partner 1: Junior Assistant Manager / Field Guide Job Purpose To assist with guiding operations and guest experiences while gaining exposure to the broader management and operational functions of the lodge. Key Responsibilities Conduct guided game drives and guest activities. Provide guests with informative and engaging wildlife experiences. Share knowledge of fauna, flora, wildlife and the surrounding environment. Ensure guest safety during all activities. Assist with guest arrivals, departures and transfers where required. Assist with guest requests and general guest services. Build positive relationships with guests and provide excellent service. Assist with the daily operations of the lodge. Support other departments when required. Assist with vehicle and equipment checks and ensure equipment is maintained. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and presentation. Assist senior management with operational tasks. Learn and develop knowledge of lodge management and hospitality operations. Handle guest concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary. Partner 2: Junior Assistant Manager / Reservations & Administration Job Purpose To provide administrative and reservations support while assisting the management team with the smooth running of the lodge and delivering excellent guest service. Key Responsibilities Assist with reservations and booking enquiries. Capture and maintain accurate guest and booking information. Communicate with guests, travel agents and tour operators. Assist with room allocations and guest itineraries. Assist with guest check-ins and check-outs. Respond to guest queries professionally and efficiently. Assist with general office administration. Maintain filing and reservation records. Assist with daily reports and lodge administration. Assist with invoicing and basic financial administration where required. Assist with stock control and ordering. Communicate with suppliers when required. Support management with various administrative and operational tasks. Assist other lodge departments during busy periods. Maintain a professional and welcoming environment for guests. Learn and develop an understanding of lodge management and operations. Partner 1: Junior Assistant Manager / Field Guide Requirements Qualified Field Guide. Relevant guiding qualification. DEAT/EDTEA registration, where applicable. Valid driver's licence. PDP advantageous/required where applicable. First Aid qualification advantageous. Previous guiding experience preferred. Passion for wildlife, conservation and hospitality. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Friendly and professional personality. Willingness to learn and develop into a management role. Ability to work flexible hours. Comfortable working and living in a remote lodge environment. Partner 2: Junior Assistant Manager / Reservations & Administration Requirements Previous experience in reservations, administration, front office or hospitality. Previous lodge/safari experience advantageous. Computer literate. Knowledge of reservations systems advantageous. Strong administrative and organisational skills. Excellent communication skills. Good attention to detail. Professional and friendly approach. Strong customer-service skills. Ability to multitask and work under pressure. Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities. Valid driver's licence advantageous. Comfortable working and living in a remote lodge environment. Couple Requirements Both candidates must: Be a professional, mature and presentable couple. Have a genuine passion for hospitality and guest service. Be hands-on and willing to assist across the lodge. Work well as a team while maintaining professional conduct. Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Be flexible with working hours and operational requirements. Be willing to learn and grow within the business. Be comfortable working in a remote/bush environment. Demonstrate a strong work ethic and positive attitude. Be able to work independently as well as under the guidance of senior management. Ideal Candidate Combination Candidate 1: Qualified Field Guide with a passion for guest experiences and wildlife. Candidate 2: Reservations/Administration candidate with strong organisational and guest-service skills. Overall objective: A promising junior couple who can support the existing management team, gain experience across lodge operations and develop into competent lodge management professionals.
