About Sandy Creek Sandy Creek Safaris is a privately owned, premium hunting, wildlife and lodge operation located in the Marakele National Park region near Thabazimbi. Sandy Creek comprises a 5-star lodge, an exclusive and sustainability-focused hunting operation, as well as our high-quality wildlife breeding programmes, which are managed and marketed under our own brand, SC Genetics. Our philosophy is clear: quality over quantity. This applies to our hunting, our animals and breeding programmes, as well as to our lodge, cuisine and the highly personal service we provide to our international guests. Our location offers a rare combination: Living and working in the heart of an exceptional wildlife environment while still being only around 20 minutes from Thabazimbi. Because Sandy Creek is located within a protected national park region, we also benefit from the existing security structures and safety measures in place in the area. Who We Are Looking For We are specifically looking for a couple to take on two distinct management positions and jointly lead the day-to-day operation of Sandy Creek. Farm Manager You will take responsibility for the farm, hunting operation, wildlife, SC Genetics, staff and infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include: Managing and organising the farm operation Leading, supervising and scheduling staff Organising the hunting operation Sustainable management of our wildlife populations Managing and further developing the SC Genetics breeding programmes Animal health, feeding and management of breeding camps Working closely with veterinarians and specialist service providers Capture, transport and marketing of breeding animals Auctions and direct sales Responsibility for vehicles, machinery, fencing, roads, water systems and buildings Budget and cost control An important part of this role is also to help develop Sandy Creek further and actively attract new hunting guests. You will build customer relationships, expand our international network, attend hunting shows and events, and represent Sandy Creek wherever our future guests and business partners are. Accordingly, a willingness to travel, including internationally, is an essential part of the position. You will not be expected to handle marketing on your own. We have our own marketing department, including a professional videographer, producing high-quality content and supporting the marketing of both Sandy Creek Safaris and SC Genetics. We are not looking for a traditional farm caretaker. We are looking for someone who combines hands-on professional expertise with entrepreneurial thinking, leadership ability and strong commercial skills. Lodge & Office Manager You will take responsibility for our 5-star lodge, our guests, the kitchen and the office. Your responsibilities will include: Leading the lodge and kitchen team Providing personal care and service to our international guests Ensuring our high standards of accommodation and service are consistently maintained Responsibility for kitchen operations and catering Menu planning and quality control Purchasing food and beverages Stock and inventory control Booking management and guest correspondence Organizing guest arrivals and departures Invoice and receipt management Office management and general administration Supporting bookkeeping and controlling You will not be expected to cook every evening yourself. However, you should have a strong understanding of high-quality cuisine and hospitality and ensure that the kitchen, service and lodge meet Sandy Creek's standards every day. You Should Be a Good Fit for Us As exceptional as this opportunity is, our expectations are equally clear. We are exclusively looking for applicants with relevant professional qualifications and substantial, demonstrable work experience. These positions are not suitable for entry-level applicants or career changers. You should know your respective field, be able to lead staff, make decisions and take responsibility. We are looking for: Several years of experience in comparable positions with significant responsibility Relevant professional training and a high level of technical expertise Proven leadership experience The ability to work independently, efficiently and in a structured manner Entrepreneurial thinking and strong cost awareness High quality standards A professional manner when dealing with guests and business partners Very good English skills A willingness to live at Sandy Creek on a long-term basis For the Farm Manager, we expect strong experience in farm, wildlife, hunting or breeding management, as well as enthusiasm for customer acquisition, networking and the travel that comes with the role. For the Lodge & Office Manager, we expect solid experience in the premium lodge, hospitality or hotel sector, together with strong organisational and administrative skills.
