General Manager - Luxury Safari Lodge

Our client is seeking an experienced General Manager to take overall responsibility for the management and day-to-day operation of a luxury safari lodge in the North West. This is a senior property leadership role with accountability for guest experience, financial performance, people management, operational standards and compliance across all lodge departments. You will provide hands-on leadership across the lodge, ensuring exceptional guest experiences while achieving operational and commercial objectives. Key responsibilities include: •Lead all lodge departments and daily operations •Maintain exceptional luxury guest-service standards •Drive guest satisfaction, repeat business and positive reviews •Achieve revenue and operational performance targets •Manage departmental expenditure and cost controls •Drive gross operating profitability •Ensure effective communication and coordination between departments •Maintain facilities and assets to luxury lodge standards •Lead, motivate and develop HODs and operational teams •Manage performance, training and staff development •Maintain a high-performance and service-driven culture •Ensure compliance with labour legislation and company procedures •Oversee health, safety, security and operational risk •Maintain readiness for audits, licensing requirements and inspections •Support sustainability and environmental initiatives The role combines commercial performance with strong guest experience, people leadership and operational accountability. Requirements: •Grade 12 •Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Business Administration or related field preferred •Proven experience as a Lodge Manager, Hotel Manager, General Manager or Senior Operations Manager •Strong luxury lodge or resort operational experience •Excellent financial and budget-management ability •Strong leadership and decision-making skills •Proven ability to manage multiple departments •Excellent guest relations and communication skills •Proficiency in hospitality management systems and reporting •Strategic yet hands-on approach •High levels of integrity, professionalism and accountability •Flexible to work weekends, public holidays and operational hours as required
