FIELD GUIDE VACANCY – EXCEPTIONAL GAME RESERVE (EASTERN CAPE) An exclusive, world-class private game reserve in the Eastern Cape is seeking a passionate and highly motivated Field Guide to join its dynamic and professional guiding team. This is an outstanding opportunity for an individual who is deeply committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences while continuously growing within a strong, team-driven environment. Key Focus Areas Delivering world-class interpretive guiding experiences with a strong emphasis on storytelling, ecological knowledge, and guest engagement Creating memorable, personalized guest interactions both on and off the vehicle Upholding the highest standards of hospitality, safety, and professionalism Contributing to a collaborative and integrated guiding culture, where teamwork and shared learning are paramount Actively participating in ongoing training, mentoring, and skills development within the guiding team Minimum Requirements FGASA qualification (NQF 2 minimum, NQF 4 preferred) Valid PrDP and First Aid certification Strong knowledge of the bush, wildlife behaviour, and ecosystems Previous experience in a high-end lodge or reserve environment advantageous Birding and or Astronomy certification an advantage The Ideal Candidate Demonstrates a genuine passion for guiding and conservation Possesses a natural ability to connect with guests and create meaningful experiences Shows a positive, can-do attitude and eagerness to learn and grow Thrives in a team-oriented environment and contributes to a strong guiding culture Is well-presented, articulate, and professional at all times Embraces feedback, development, and continuous improvement What Sets This Role Apart This reserve prides itself on building a highly integrated guiding team, where individuals are not only exceptional in the field but also support and elevate one another.
